They are now serving beer at church!!!
A pastor in the Greater Purpose Community Church in Santa Cruz, California is planning to serve beer and wine during Sundays and yes, in responsible moderation. Yes, Pastor… wink wink…
The Pastor believes that beer is a beverage centered on community. When consumed responsibly, it can bring people together in ways traditional worship can’t. “There’s nothing in the bible that says you can’t drink alcohol in a responsible manner,” Chris VanHall, Greater Purpose Community Church pastor, told KNTV.
This concept has helped the growth of the church and the Pastor plans to donate 30 to 60 percent of the profit to the charity. “I thought to myself, wouldn’t it be great if a church could figure out a way to make a product where they split the profits with local community service organizations?” VanHall told KNTV.
If these concept really does bring more people closer to the Lord then we are all for it. It just makes us think how bad this pastor is in giving his sermons that you need to be buzzed to understand it. Cheers!
